Alissa Kloet has been designing home goods under the brand Keephouse since 2012. Her love of pattern led her to Sheridan College to study Textiles, and she went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Her work explores colour, shape and pattern and she using a variety of mixed media in her surface design process. Alissa’s fabric yardage and finished goods are made using natural materials and small-scale production. She has been an artist in residence at Harbourfront Centre, and her work has been sold across Canada and shown at Toronto Interior Design Show, NYNOW, and OOAK.

Alongside her studio practice, Alissa has spent over a decade organizing arts events in Halifax/Kjipuktuk, driven by a passion for supporting and celebrating the local creative economy. She spent ten years with the Halifax Crafters Society, including a term as Board Chair, and has organized the Surfside Studio Tour since 2019, helping connect local makers in her neighbourhood with their community. Most recently, she co-founded the Halifax Design Festival and is working to build a new platform for design in the city.

Alissa lives and works in Seaforth, Nova Scotia, a small town outside of Halifax, with her husband and two young children.
