Colour and pattern - two of my most favourite things! In this full day workshop I will guide you through the process of designing and printing your own block to make a set of tea towels. During the first part of the morning we will talk about elements of designs like visual rhythm, scale and movement before letting your imaginations go. Tips on how to cut the lino block and best practices for printing will also be discussed.
You will leave this class with two finished tea towels as well as a block printing kit including your carved lino block, carving tool and inks to keep printing on your own.
Lunch is included. Ocean views are free :)
Anchorage Retreat is a creative weekend escape hosted by Nova Scotian artists DeeDee Morris and Alissa Kloet of Keephouse. We are currently in the planning stages for our next retreat. You can expect a wonderful location, great food and amazing workshops and yoga. It is a space for women to come together and slow down. It is a time to disconnect from the everyday and begin again to pay attention. Through creative and mindful exercises, active participation, and self reflection, we hope inspire you to either begin or reenergize your own creative practice. We intend this retreat to be a time to anchor oneself and rediscover the joy of observation.
